When it comes to wedding flowers, there is something special about knowing exactly where those blooms came from.

For Audrey Schneider, owner of Farmer's Wife Flowers LLC, every bouquet starts long before wedding day. It begins with a seed, carefully planted and nurtured on her flower farm before eventually becoming part of a couple's celebration.

Serving Arcola, Columbia City, Fort Wayne, Churubusco, and surrounding communities, Audrey has spent the last two years building a business centered around fresh, locally grown flowers and preserving the memories attached to them.

From Backyard Garden to Flower Farm

Like many small business stories, Farmer's Wife Flowers started with a simple passion.

Before launching her business, Audrey worked alongside another flower farmer in Columbia City. What began as a small backyard flower plot quickly grew into something more. After a few years of cultivating flowers in her own garden and discovering just how much she loved the process, Audrey decided to pursue flower farming as a career.

Today, that small backyard plot has grown into a thriving half-acre flower farm where she cultivates flowers from seed each season.

From spring until the first frost, Audrey grows and harvests fresh-cut flowers that are used in bouquets, wedding florals, special events, farmers markets, and her farm stand.

More Than Just Wedding Flowers

One of the things that makes Farmer's Wife Flowers unique is that Audrey offers both floral design and flower preservation.

Not only can she create beautiful arrangements for your wedding day, but she can also preserve those flowers afterward so they can be enjoyed for years to come.

For many couples, their bouquet is one of the most meaningful details of the wedding day.

Having the ability to preserve those blooms creates a lasting reminder of the celebration long after the final dance.

It's a service that perfectly complements Audrey's philosophy of creating flowers that are both beautiful and meaningful.

Helping Couples Bring Their Vision to Life

Ask Audrey what she enjoys most about her work, and the answer is simple.

She loves creating arrangements that help couples feel beautiful and confident on one of the most important days of their lives.

Her approach is collaborative and supportive. Rather than telling couples what their wedding should look like, she focuses on helping them bring their own vision to life.

As Audrey puts it:

"It is your wedding. You get to choose every small detail. I am just here to make those small details come to life with flowers."

That mindset allows couples to create floral designs that feel personal, authentic, and uniquely theirs.

Planning Ahead for Fresh, Local Flowers

Because Audrey grows many of her flowers herself, timing can play an important role in the planning process.

Couples are encouraged to reach out approximately two to four months before their wedding date to begin discussing their floral vision. While consultations are available year-round, wedding floral services are offered primarily from May through October during the growing season.

For winter and early spring weddings, Audrey can still work with couples to create beautiful arrangements, though some flowers may need to be sourced through wholesale suppliers.
